Luis Enrique has announced the list of those called to the Spanish National Team for the two preparation matches for the Qatar 2022 World Cup, which will be played in November and December of this year. The main surprise of 'La Roja' is the absence of Ansu Fati and Sergio Ramos. The former has been a regular in the coach's calls in recent times, while the PSG defender had not been playing football regularly since last season, but this season he has been returning to his best level, little by little.

When asked why, of his decision, Luis Enrique replied:

"It's great news to see Sergio Ramos after a year and a little. Now he competes and does it often and from there I can tell you what you want, but I think the best ones to play as central defenders are the central defenders that are here".

The central defenders called on this occasion are: Eric García (Barcelona), Diego Llorente (Leeds United), Pau Torres (Villarreal), Hugo Guillamón (Valencia). These are the players that the coach considers to be above Sergio Ramos.

Ansu Fati

Ansu Fati has only played one game as a starter so far this season, despite having delivered with two goals and two assists in 119 La Liga minutes played.

The coach explained his situation: "He came in June to get into group dynamics and have contact again and really see how he was and the truth is that he was much better. He has only played one starting game for his club and this It tells me something. I hope we see the best Ansu again, but today I don't see him on the list. He's in the process of gaining confidence and improving after not playing for a long time". assured Luis Enrique.

Later he mentioned Barcelona's '10' again: "I've called a player to ask about his condition, but I'm not in the habit of talking to the players. When I see you fly, you'll come. I'm not going to fool myself Ansu will return when he considers that he has the level of the national team"
Thiago Alcantara (Liverpool), Marc Cucurella (Chelsea), David De Gea (Manchester United). They are just some other names of players who are left out of this call for 'La Roja', which demonstrates its full potential as a candidate for the next World Cup.
Looking ahead to the World Cup, there is still a chance that one of these players, or others, will earn their place in the national team, but if the top national team competition starts tomorrow, these would be the ones called up from Spain.
