FIFA World Cup 2022 Opening Ceremony details

The opening ceremony will take place on Sunday, 20 November 2022, at the Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor, prior to the opening match of the tournament between hosts Qatar and Ecuador. It will be host for the Colombian singer Shakira, with the K-pop group BTS and the American group Black Eyed Peas.

FIFA has announced that semi-automated offside technology will be used at the FIFA World Cup 2022™ in Qatar starting on 21 November, offering a support tool for the video match officials and the on-field officials to help them make faster, more accurate and more reproducible offside decisions on the biggest stage of all.
